Hey there, gamer!
Thanks for visiting [Your Gaming Website Name] — we’re just a bunch of people who love games, news, leaks, trailers, release dates, and everything gaming-related.

This page explains what personal information we collect when you use our site, what we do with it, and how we try to keep your data safe. We keep it short and readable because nobody likes 12-page legal walls.

1. What information do we collect?

Information you give us directly

  • When you leave a comment
  • When you sign up for our newsletter
  • When you contact us (email, form, Discord, etc.)

Usually this means:

  • your name / nickname
  • email address
  • the comment/message itself
  • sometimes your Discord / Twitter / Steam name if you share it

Information we collect automatically

  • IP address
  • Browser type & version
  • Device type (phone, PC, tablet…)
  • Operating system
  • Which pages you visit and how long you stay
  • Which links you click

We get most of this from cookies, server logs, and analytics tools.

2. We use Google services (and others like them)

Like almost every gaming site on the internet, we use:

  • Google Analytics (to see which articles people read most)
  • Google AdSense / Ezoic / other ad networks (to pay the hosting bills)
  • YouTube embeds (trailers, gameplay videos)
  • Sometimes Discord widget or Twitter feeds

These services collect their own data. Their privacy policies apply to whatever they collect — you can read them here:

3. What we do with your information

We use it to:

  • Show you the games/news you actually care about
  • Improve the website (which articles are trash? which ones slap?)
  • Reply to your comments / messages
  • Send you newsletter updates (only if you asked for them)
  • Detect spam, bots, and toxic behavior in comments

We do not sell your email address or personal info to random companies.
We do not build creepy marketing profiles on you.

4. Cookies & similar tech

We use cookies (small text files) and similar tools to:

  • Remember if you’re logged in to comment
  • Save your dark/light mode preference
  • Show relevant ads
  • Understand site traffic

You can turn almost all of them off in your browser settings, but some features (like commenting or newsletter signup) might stop working nicely.

We also use essential cookies that are necessary for the site to function — those can’t be turned off.

5. Who else sees your data?

Only these people/services see your data:

  • Us (the site owners/admins)
  • Hosting provider (they see server logs — normal stuff)
  • Comment system (if we use Disqus, IntenseDebate etc.)
  • Analytics & ad partners (Google, etc. — anonymized or aggregated in most cases)
  • Legal authorities — only if we’re legally forced to hand over information

6. How long do we keep your data?

  • Comments: we keep them unless you ask us to delete them or they break rules
  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe
  • Analytics data: usually 14–26 months (depends on the provider)
  • Server logs: 30–90 days

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what data we have about you
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Ask us to stop processing your data
  • Withdraw consent (for newsletter, cookies, etc.)

Just send us an email — we’ll usually answer within a few days.

8. Children’s privacy

This site is not made for kids under 13 (or 16 in some countries).
We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
If you think we accidentally have data about someone under the age limit, email us and we’ll remove it immediately.

9. Changes to this policy

We might update this page when we add new features (like a forum, account system, etc.).
We’ll put the new date at the top.
If the changes are big, we’ll try to let you know through a banner or newsletter.

10. Contact us

Questions, concerns, “hey you forgot something”, or “please delete my comment/data” → just email:

We’re gamers too — we’ll try to answer fast and without corporate robot language.

Thanks for reading this far.
Now go back to scrolling patch notes and wishlists — we’ll be here. 🕹️
